How are debts settled in SplitSumo?

Once participants start logging expenses on a tab, SplitSumo's algorithm will calculate the debts between them. Under the expense log you can see an individualized debts panel, that shows whom you owe money and who owes you.
Once you have paid someone off or someone has paid you off, you can use this panel to settle debts by clicking on the "Mark as settled" button next to the debt.
Settling a debt is really just a convenience that generates an expense log entry that offsets the debt in question.
